Systems Projects

The DTFP supports sustainable improvement in the quality and organization of substance abuse treatment systems through investments in the following areas:
  • Implementation of Evidence Informed Practice
  • Strengthening Evaluation and Performance Measurement
  • Linkage and Exchange

Approximately $6.78 million has been committed to fund eleven Ontario Systems Projects and a comprehensive independent evaluation, beginning April 1, 2011 and ending March 31, 2013.

People with Lived Experience and Family Advisory Panel 

The Advisory Panel is comprised of people with lived experience of addictions/problematic substance use and family members. The purpose of this panel is to ensure the perspectives of people with lived experience and families are adequately represented in the suite of DTFP projects and for the initiative as a whole. The Advisory Panel will provide advice and feedback, and will engage in a dialogue with the DTFP Systems Level Steering Committee, Study Leads, and individual project advisory committees throughout the life of the program.

Purpose and responsibilities of the Persons with Lived Experience and Family Member Advisory Panel:

The main function of the Advisory Panel is to ensure the perspectives of persons with lived experience and families are adequately represented in the DTFP Ontario Systems Projects and in the initiative as a whole.

The Advisory Panel will:

  • Bring to bear its expertise, knowledge, and experience to provide guidance and feedback for the individual Ontario Systems Projects and the initiative as a whole
  • Engage in a dialogue with the Ontario Systems Projects Leads/Teams and the Steering Committee
  • Serve as a formal mechanism to exchange ideas and concerns related to the DTFP Ontario Systems Projects
  • Provide avenues of communication to stakeholders across the province, if possible and when appropriate
